How to create groups on Twitter and follow threaded streams of twitter updates

It’s very easy to miss updates in twitter due to the amount of stuff that keeps coming in; and it is just a pain to read your friends’ random jokes, your colleagues rants and world news all intermixed in a single stream.

People keep bragging about this and Facebook (not Twitter) did listen and reacted! but there’s a very Zen ‘act-without-doing’ solution, you don’t need to install an extra twitter client, nor to share your twitter password with yet another site; actually you don’t even need to have a Twitter account, nor to follow people explicitly!

Just notice that each user page (http://twitter.com/username) generates an rss feed, then:

  1. Aggregate users rss’ in groups/labels as you like in your preferred rss reader
  2. done! click your personal labels and read threaded twitter discussions

Bonus: this also works with the feeds created by twitterSearch (i.e. keywords monitoring), with other users’ favourites pages and on and on.

Just took all your suggestions and slapped a few twitter RSS feeds into Google Reader. Very cool. Thanks for the tip.
